An Interdisciplinary Approach to a Study of Consciousness

Peter Hardwick,
King's College London

Within the last decade the study of consciousness has become the focus of great attention among the international scientific community, in addition to renewed interest in traditional departments of philosophy. It is now becoming increasingly acknowledged that no single discipline can provide a comprehensive explanation or understanding of all the complexities of consciousness. A multidisciplinary approach is required to achieve this.

A comprehensive study and explanation of consciousness is vast, and some very difficult and abstract concept are encountered.

Peter Hardwick describes his own approach to understanding consciousness, and how this led to the development of an inter-disciplinary methodology which can loosely be described as an algorithm for a study of consciousness.
